Myrrh oil from Rari Buul

Pure organic essential oil from myrrh (commiphora myrrha).

This myrrh is different from other offerings in the market, which are usually solvent-based extractions containing resin residues despite being called ‘pure essential oil’. 2Mages myrrh essential oil is transparent, lighter than water and has an amazing perfume, while solvent-based extractions are dark, heavier than water (resinous) and do not smell nearly as nice.

The reason for the relatively high price is that only 1 to 1,5% of the weight of myrrh resins consists of essential oil, thus making their extraction very costly. With 2Mages myrrh oil one drop may suffice for applications like wound healing. A 5ml vial contains about 100 drops.

Composition: 99,8% pure essential oil of commiphora myrrha from Rari Buul, with 0,2% vitamin E organically obtained from sunflower seeds as an antioxidant. GCMS chemical analysis.

Source: The resins were harvested by Said Awad Araale in Rari Buul, Saahil region of Somaliland and sorted, cleaned and packed by members of the Beeyo Maal cooperative in Bur’o. They were flown directly from Somaliland to Europe and distilled by experts in the Netherlands.

Safety: Test before widespread application on very sensitive skin. Ingestion of myrrh is not recommended.

Storage: Comes with a pipette for exact measuring of drops, in a Miron Violetglass bottle resistant to ultraviolet radiation (thus, resistant to degradation by light). Stored in a cool place and with the cap screwed on tightly, this essential oil can be preserved for decades after opening.

Tip: Can also be mixed with other essential oils: frankincense and essences with high flowery and clear notes are most appropriate.

Fair trade: We paid what the members of the cooperative asked (15$/kg). In addition, 10% of the listed price (excl VAT) is donated to the Beeyo Maal foundation to improve working conditions and the regeneration of frankincense forests. Myrrh, Mo-Yao (沒藥) in traditional chinese medicine, may be more potent than frankincense in terms of both healing and scent, but much less is known about it. 2Mages hopes to return myrrh to the prominence it deserves by exploring more varieties and developing more products based on them.
