Active principles: This hydrolate carries the water-soluble constituents that emerge during the resin’s steam distillation—compounds distinct from those found in the essential oil itself. The hydrolate’s naturally occurring organic acids and trace aromatic compounds work harmoniously with all skin types, offering a subtle toning effect without the intensity of essential oils. Particularly valued for mature or sensitive skin, it provides a delicate veil of hydration that prepares the skin for subsequent care.
Storage and shelf-life: Store in a cool, dark place. Use within 6-12 months of opening for optimal freshness.
Source: made with moxor (frankincense carterii) resins collected in Hasasha, Somaliland by Ahmed Ali Isse and cleaned by the members of Beeyo Maal’s women cooperative.
Fair trade: We pay what the members of the cooperative think is a fair price. In addition, 10% of the listed price (excl VAT) is donated to the Beeyo Maal foundation to improve working conditions among harvesting communities and the regeneration of frankincense forests. Another 10% is invested in the activities of Arawelo, which seeks to establish a new model for trade in products collected in the wild by indigenous communities worldwide by building short supply lines to consumers while facilitating research and advocacy.

This hydrolate shows that even in its subtlest form, frankincense retains its neurocosmetic properties. As you spray it, your mood lifts slightly and it you can connect, however briefly, to the larger tissue of life.
