Description
Pure organic essential oil from moxor (frankincense carterii).
Composition: 99,8% pure essential oil of boswellia carterii from Hasasha, with 0,2% vitamin E organically obtained from sunflower seeds as an antioxidant. GCMS chemical analysis.
Source: The resins were harvested by Ahmed Ali Isse near Hasasha, Sanaag regionĀ and sorted, cleaned and packed by members of the Beeyo Maal cooperative in Erigabo. They were flown directly from Somaliland to Europe and distilled by experts in the Netherlands.
Safety: Frankincense is known to have practically no side effects. Test before widespread application on very sensitive skin. Ingestion is not recommended, but if desired, do not ingest pure, and not more than a few drops per session.
Storage: Comes with dropper in a Miron Violetglass bottle resistant to ultraviolet radiation (thus, resistant to degradation by light). Stored in a cool place and with the cap screwed on tightly, this essential oil can be preserved for decades after opening.
Tip: Can also be mixed with other essential oils: myrrh, rose and sandalwood, for example, are grateful aromatic partners of moxor.
Fair trade: We paid what the members of the cooperative asked (10$/kg). In addition, 10% of the listed price (excl VAT) is donated to the Beeyo Maal foundation to improve working conditions and the regeneration of frankincense forests. See our page on conservation and trade issues. Another 10% is invested in the activities of Arawelo, which seeks to establish a new model for trade in products collected in the wild by indigenous communities worldwide by building short supply lines to consumers while facilitating research and advocacy.

Note by the sourcer:
Ahmed Ali Isse was introduced to me by the ladies of Beeyo Maal. It was the first time I heard of the frankincense from Hasasha, and I was careful to order only two bags (50kg). I was surprised when I saw the resins he brought, cleaned by the women: such big tears, of a rare pinkish hue. Next year I will buy some more from him, for sure!
