Description
Pure organic essential oils from Somaliland
Composition: 99,8% pure essential oil with 0,2% vitamin E organically obtained from sunflower seeds as an antioxidant (tocopherol). GCMS chemical analysis.
Source: The resins were harvested in Saahil and Sanaag by members of the Beeyo Maal cooperative. They were flown directly from Somaliland to Europe and distilled by experts in the Netherlands.
Safety: Frankincense and myrrh are known to have practically no side effects, even in high concentrations. Test before widespread application on very sensitive skin. Ingestion is not recommended, but if desired, do not ingest pure, and not more than a few drops per session.
Storage: The oils come with appropriate droppers in Miron Violetglass bottles resistant to ultraviolet radiation (thus, resistant to degradation by light). Stored in a cool place and with the cap screwed on tightly, these essential oils can be preserved for decades after opening.
Tip: Can also be mixed with other essential oils: rose and sandalwood, for example, are grateful aromatic partners of frankincense.
Fair trade: We paid what the members of the cooperative asked (10$/kg). In addition, 10% of the listed price (excl VAT) is donated to the Beeyo Maal foundation to improve working conditions and the regeneration of frankincense forests. See our page on conservation and trade issues. Another 10% is invested in the activities of Arawelo, which seeks to establish a new model for trade in products collected in the wild by indigenous communities worldwide by building short supply lines to consumers while facilitating research and advocacy.
